Teen Parent Program

For ages 13-21

At Youth & Families for Christ all of our programs are free!

 

Every life has value and worth, and we know that God wants every life to count.

 

Earn Baby $ Bucks for attending events and use them to buy diapers, wipes, clothes, cribs, and other items in or onsite Earn While You Learn Store.

 

Teen Mom Luncheons

A support group for teen moms held at the student's high school.

  • Columbus High School - Tuesdays during students' lunch period
  • Lakeview High School - Schedules vary from lunchtime to study halls. Call YFFC office to join or ask school counselor.
  • Schuyler High School - Wednesdays during lunch. Also on Wednesdays, individual home visits are available as well as small group that meets at the library at 2:00 pm.

Earn While You Learn

Earn baby bucks watching parenting videos. Videos may be viewed weekdays, 9:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the YFFC office. Call for appointments.

Adoption Service Provided

Complete advocacy for the mom that chooses to relinquish her baby as YFFC partners with the Nebraska Childrens' Home and supports the Teen Mom, before, during and after.

Teen Parent Crisis Prevention

 

At Youth & Families for Christ all of our programs are free!

 

Teen Parent directors are available to our young mothers to provide 1-on-1 meetings. Topics covered such as...

 

  • What do I do when my baby won't stop crying and I am so frustrated?

  • I am out of diapers or formula and I have no money.

  • (open ourstore and they can purchase these items with baby bucks.

  • My boyfriend is cheating on me, and what should I do?

  • Substance abuse

  • physical and emotional abuse

  • homelessness

  • Hunger

  • suicide prevention

*On Call 24/7 through social media

*Provide information concerning resources we cannot provide such as houshing, medical care, and other concerns.

*We prevent a crisis of being alone by building networks among the teen parents and connnecting them with mentors.

 

*We are not certified counselors, but we are here to listen and help anyway we can, and connect to community services that you may need.
